Privacy

This is a static site. The pages were built ahead of time and are served as files. There is no account to make, no session, no login, and no profile of you anywhere in it.

Reading the site

No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, and no advertising. The typefaces, the scripts and the images all come from this domain, so this site loads nothing from anyone else. Netlify hosts the site and, like any web host, keeps ordinary server logs of requests made to it. That is infrastructure rather than something this site chooses to collect, and none of it is used to build a picture of you.

The shop

The shop reaches Shopify at the moment you add something to a cart, and not before. Your cart lives in your own browser's storage on this domain; it holds a cart identifier, which is a credential, so it is never put in a link or shared between devices. Checkout is Shopify's and happens on shop.vinton.land. That is the same store under a different name, which is why the address changes at the checkout button. What Shopify collects there, payment details included, is Shopify's to describe, and this site never sees a card number.

The contact form

Sending the form gives up three things: your name, your email address and your message. They are stored by Netlify and read by a person.

One more thing happens, and it is the reason this page exists. Your email address is also added to the shop's mailing list, as a customer in Shopify with email marketing consent set to subscribed. So writing in with a question also signs you up to hear from the shop. If that is not what you wanted, every message the shop sends carries an unsubscribe link, and asking through the form works too.

Messages are kept because they are correspondence, not data collection. Ask and yours will be deleted.

Anything else

This page describes what the site does today, and it is written to be checkable rather than reassuring. If something here does not match what you observe, that is worth saying on the contact page. How the site is built is in the colophon, and what the shop actually sells is on the about page.
